POSITION: Technical Sales Specialist


DESCRIPTION: As a Technical Sales Specialist for industrial grade video solutions, you are responsible for working with a team of sales representatives that sell video and control solutions as well as customer service to end users, partners and resellers. The focus of the team will be to support ongoing direct and channel sales as well as maintaining positive on-going relationships with distributors and end users. As an entry-level professional you will strengthen your relationship building and sales skills, as well as your product knowledge, as you contribute positively to the sales team to reach collective sales goals. It is important that you be a quick learner, with great communication skills and a desire to develop in the sales areas, to be successful in this role. Technical and sales support associate is responsible for providing both pre-sales and after-sales information and technical support on IVC’s IP video systems. This will include supporting the Technical Sales team as well as directly assisting customers who are considering or have purchased systems.. Prior process control, manufacturing, or automation experience is a plus.


  • Handling incoming inquiries from both end-user customers, resellers, and outside sales representatives. This involves qualifying inbound leads, and working with our Senior Technical Sales representatives to determine what video equipment and software is most suitable, provide information, follow up, and generate quotes in support of the technical sales staff quotations.
  • Schedule and host product and application-based presentations for end users and resellers.
  • Assist technical sales team in researching equipment suppliers, pricing, and specifications.
  • Manage targeted sales campaigns for specific products or vertical markets.
  • Direct management of existing customers. This involves continuous outreach and ongoing relationship building to provide end users with direct support, management of ongoing support renewals and generation of new sales. Provide first-level technical support over the phone and through email and remote access to customers who have purchased IP video systems.
  • In addition to handling telephone support, you should be comfortable with setting up and troubleshooting equipment, including conducting pre-shipment Factory Acceptance Tests, and training customers.


  • 5 years experience in sales, sales support or customer support and with good communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills and understanding of IP video or networking technologies.
  • Experience selling to process control, manufacturing, and/or automation markets.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelors degree – ideally in business, computer science, or technology.
